REFLECTIONS...

On Leadership:
Leadership is the ability to influence others voluntarily to pursue a goal or a vision. I am a leader who looks to the technological future and encourages others to share in this vision.  As a transformational leader, the focus is always to help others to see the importance of their jobs and performance, while ensuring that I help the individual to focus on his or her own personal growth and development. These energies must all be channeled to work for the good of the university as well as my country--The Commonwealth of The Bahamas. 

On Service:
When it comes to service--it is not just doing the right things, it is doing things right. It involves focusing on those attitudes and behaviors that bring out the best in others and yourself. My service focus is to fulfill the needs of both internal and external clients connected to the academy.

Leadership Activities 

Those activities which strengthened the leadership ability of the doctoral candidate.

​​Leadership Activities & Events for 2015-2016:

• ​LIMS Symposium Planning & Steering Committee (Feb 2016) - member. 
• Girls in Technology Symposium, Hudson County Community College, New Jersey (March 2016) - led a coding workshop for high school students.
• Appointed as Cataloguing Librarian by the College’s Council in March 2016. 
• OCLC Global Council ARC Delegate - appointed for a three-year term as representative for the  Americas Regional Council (April 2016). 

Service Activities

Those activities which positively influenced the volunteer spirit and service focus of the doctoral candidate.

Service Activities 2015-2016:

• Librarian Liaison for Culinary & Hospitality Management Institute (Jan 2016-April 2016) - served on the Faculty Board and provided APA consultation and curriculum expertise.
• Library Cadet Trainer - mentors high school students who show interest in the profession (Volunteer).
• Serves on Library Advisory Committee
• Serves on Health and Safety Committee
• Serves on Digital Libraries of the Caribbean Committee
• Trainer, Intermediate Computing Training Workshop, The College of The Bahamas (Volunteer)
